My MSc supervisor, Dr. Jacqueline Litzgus, was recently awarded the Blue Racer Award at the most recent meeting of the Canadian Herpetological Society. The Blue Racer Award is to honour scientists who have contributed significantly to research and conservation of reptiles and amphibians in Canada. Dr. Litzgus is the youngest person, as well as the first women to ever have won this award!
I sadly, could not attend this meeting because I am busy finishing up my PhD in Australia. But, I celebrated for afar! I have always felt so honoured to have been mentored by this inspiring and dedicated Canadian herpetologist, and can't help but look forward to all our future collaborations! Congratulations Jackie!
